Project overview

Premiered in Málaga International Film Festival 2025

A visceral journey into the night: light and shadow play across the water aboard the last boat in Cap de Creus still practicing pesca de l'encesa, the Catalan tradition of attracting fish with light, passed down through generations.

Aiguallum Lamparo is a 2025 medium-length documentary directed by David Tena and produced by Colibrí Studio. The film portrays the last fishing community in Cap de Creus practicing the ancestral "a l'encesa" fishing technique, which uses light to attract fish on the open sea.
